ArtisianGO (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates a marketplace that connects clients with independent beauty artists in South Africa. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and your rights under the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
Information we collect
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, and password (stored hashed).
- Artist profile data: bio, service categories, location coordinates, operating hours, profile images, and payout setup details processed through Paystack.
- Identity verification (artists): ID document images where required for verification and POPIA consent.
- Booking and payment data: appointment details, payment status, transaction references, wallet balances, and Cult membership records.
- Location data: when you grant permission, we use your device location to show nearby artists, distances, directions, and queue proximity features.
- Push notification tokens: device tokens used to deliver booking updates, queue alerts, and tier-race notifications.
- Usage and diagnostics: basic app version, device type, and error logs needed to keep the service reliable.
How we use your information
- Create and manage your account, bookings, and payments.
- Connect clients with artists and display map-based discovery.
- Process payments and artist payouts through Paystack.
- Send transactional notifications about bookings, queues, and account activity.
- Prevent fraud, enforce platform rules, and comply with legal obligations.
- Improve reliability, support, and product features.
Third-party services
We use trusted processors including Paystack (payments), SendGrid or SMTP (email), Cloudinary (image storage), Render/Vercel (hosting), Expo (mobile updates), and optional ride-hailing integrations. These providers only receive data needed to perform their service.
Data retention
We keep personal information while your account is active and as needed for legal, tax, and dispute-resolution obligations. When you delete your account in the app, we remove or anonymize personal data except where retention is required by law.
Your POPIA rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, subject to legal obligations. You can update profile details in the app, delete your account from Profile → Legal & support, or contact us at support@artisiango.com.
Security
Passwords are hashed. API traffic uses HTTPS. Access to production systems is restricted. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards.
Children
ArtisianGO is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
